Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026
By using Workash you agree to these terms. Please read them.
What Workash is
Workash is a platform that connects people who need work done with people who can do it. We are not the employer. Any agreement to work is between the hirer and the worker directly. We provide identity verification, payment handling and a record of what was agreed.
Who can use it
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- If you are 16 or 17, you need a parent or guardian's consent, and you may only do work that is lawful and non-hazardous for young persons under Sri Lankan law.
- You must give accurate information, including a genuine identity document.
- One person, one account. Accounts may not be shared or sold.
Identity verification
- Verification is required before you can accept work.
- Submitting someone else's document, or a document that is not genuine, will result in permanent removal.
- Verification confirms that the person matches the document. It is not a guarantee of character, skill or conduct.
For hirers
- Describe the work honestly — hours, pay, location and what is expected.
- Pay the agreed amount. Cash payments are your responsibility to make in person.
- Provide a safe workplace, and comply with Sri Lankan labour law.
- Do not ask a worker to do something different from what was advertised.
For workers
- Only accept work you can actually do and attend.
- Turn up on time, and check in and out where required.
- Cancelling after being confirmed affects your reliability score.
- Do not send someone else in your place.
Payments and fees
- Where a hirer pays online, funds are held by Workash and released to the worker after the work is confirmed complete.
- Where payment is in cash, it is made directly between hirer and worker. Workash does not hold or guarantee it.
- A service fee may apply. Any fee is shown before you commit — never after.
- Bonuses or incentives offered by a hirer are paid directly in cash and are not held by Workash.
Disputes
Either side can report a problem through the app. Where money is held by Workash, it is frozen until the report is reviewed. We will look at the evidence available — attendance records, messages and payment history — and decide. Our decision on held funds is final.
Going around the platform
Arranging work off-platform to avoid fees removes the protections that make this service worth using: verified identity, payment protection and a record of what was agreed. Accounts found doing this repeatedly may be removed.
What we do not promise
- We do not guarantee that work will be available, or that a worker will be found.
- We do not guarantee the quality of anyone's work.
- We are not responsible for what happens at a workplace.
Ending your account
- You can request deletion at any time in Settings.
- We may suspend accounts that break these terms, particularly around identity fraud or safety.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
