Refunds
Payment and refund terms
Last updated: 2026
This explains when money is returned, and when it is not.
Money paid online is held, not sent
When a hirer pays through the app, Workash holds the money. It is released to the worker only after the work is confirmed complete — for shifts, after they have checked in and checked out.
When a hirer gets a refund
- The worker did not attend, and there is no check-in record.
- The part-time job or skilled job was cancelled before any work took place.
- A dispute is decided in the hirer's favour.
- Where several workers were booked and only some attended, the refund covers only those who did not.
When a refund is not given
- The work was completed as agreed, and the hirer changed their mind afterwards.
- The hirer cancelled after the worker had already started.
- Dissatisfaction alone, where the work described was in fact done — this is what reviews are for.
Cash payments
Where payment is made in cash, Workash never holds the money and therefore cannot refund it. Any dispute over a cash payment is between the hirer and the worker. We can review the attendance record and messages, but we cannot return money we never held.
Bonuses and incentives
Target bonuses and incentives are paid directly in cash by the hirer. They are never held by Workash, because we cannot verify whether a target was met. They are outside this refund policy.
How to request one
- Report the issue in the app within 24 hours of the work ending.
- Reporting an issue freezes any money still held.
- Our team reviews the attendance record, messages and payment history.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 working days depending on your bank.
Service fees
Where a refund is approved in full, any service fee charged on that transaction is refunded with it.
